My husband and I were going to look at this old building. I’m not sure if it was an old train station, border crossing, or some government building. It was small, and square, made out of grey stone bricks. It had been empty for years and we were just curious.
We went inside, and to our surprise, there were renovations going on. Frames were built for rooms (Previously, it had been just one open space), and we could tell it was going to be amazing! Someone was cleaning the kitchen, a worker, and we let her believe we were the owners or something, being confidant and snooping around. I walked to the back of the house, and out the window was a beautiful view of a river. I’ve seen this river lots of times before in my dreams, so I knew what it was, but in the place I was at, there isn’t a river in real life.
In the middle of the building, tables were set up. We realized that whoever bought this building would make it into some type of hotel or restaurant or something. We were kind of jealous wishing we had done it first, but oh well. We looked around, and then went into the basement. No one had been down there since the 80s and there were tonnes of toys. It was so exciting! All of the exciting toys from my childhood~ dolls and barbies I had forgotten about, so many neat things! I thought I would try to steal a Barbie dress, because it was so exciting, and no one would probably care. It was just junk to someone else, but to me it was precious. I couldn’t really find the dress I was looking for, so I gave up.
We went back upstairs, and the people who did own the house had just come in. Umm. Oops. They were a little weirded out/annoyed that we were in their house. Then my brother told me that we had built their kitchen at our shop, so we said that’s why we were there. My dad was there now too, and I thought it was strange my dad had known about this renovations all along since we had built the kitchen.
We were trying to leave, and we were sitting on the top of the roof or something. Or maybe since it was unfinished, there were no steps out. Everyone had climbed down the ladder but me and my SIL. The top two rungs of the ladder were broken and it was too dangerous for me to climb down. They brought another ladder, but it didn’t even reach up to the top, and I was too scared to try to climb on it. Suddenly my sister in law just jumped down. She had been on a lower spot than me, but I couldn’t jump from that high. I sat, and thought to myself “Why have I found myself stuck and unable to get down from high places so many times in my life?”. Then I saw a rope swinging from the roof beside me. I thought that I would just swing down myself instead of waiting. I knew I could do it. I grabbed the rope, and swung down to the driveway. I DID IT!!!
Now, in the driveway, they had some type of car port, with a bit of storage above. My brother and I climbed up. Somehow, it was full of all of our toys from when we were little! My brother told me that the owner had thrown away my special bunny and his black stuffed dog, Blackie. He had thought it was just junk. I was looking through everything, seeing all of my old toys and wondering how I could get them home. I noticed that there was a Mermaid PJ Sparkles, and a normal one. How did I get them? I thought I had my real PJ Sparkles at home for my daughter. Weird.
Somehow, the scene changed, and my daughter and I were doing this weird 17th century dance, where you walk in a line, spin around, walk backwards, and waltz back somehow. Weird. I saw my brother, but it was his 5 year old self! It was so neat to see him that age. I have seen myself, and him as well in a few occasions, as our young selves, and it’s always really cool. Anyway, he told me that I was his favourite aunt, and we did the weird funny waltz for fun, to play.
Next, I had to go take a shower for work or something, so I left my young brother and daughter (or maybe it was young me, I’m not sure), in the room to go get ready. I was about to turn on the shower, when I realized that the tub was totally full and murky, because I must have forgotten to drain it last time. I didn’t want to get in the cold water, and then accidentally overflow the tub with my shower, so I started to drain it.
I started to take off my shirt, which was a white, non-stretch cotton shirt. When I started to pull it off, it got stuck! I wiggled and wriggled to try to get out, pulling and pulling but not being able to! The kids were too young to help, but I was stuck in that darn shirt. For what seemed like about 20 minutes, I struggled to get out. Until I finally just woke up.
